Zones of Touristic Interest

A zone of touristic interest (ZTI) is any area within the Island providing a series of natural and man-made attractions which are at present developed or have tourist potentials, such as beaches, lakes, bays, historical sites, and places of great natural beauty, within which the buildings, structures, natural beauty, and other things are of basic and vital importance for the development of tourism in Puerto Rico as an integral part of its geographical location or within the environs thereof.

ZTI’s are established by the Puerto Rico Planning Board.

No franchise, permit, authorization, or license for works, constructions, installations, services, use, or activities may be granted by a permitting agency within a ZTI without a previous favorable report of the PRTC.

This site is registered on wpml.org as a development site.
